LIGHTING POLICIES NEED HELP? Call 800.762.7077

The following lighting policies apply to all lighting projects. PROJECT AND MEASURE DEFINITION Rebates are for 1-for-1 upgrades and retrofits of existing equipment, unless applying for General Watts Reduced measure or new construction eligible. PRIVATE LABELING GUIDANCE Focus on Energy requires lighting products to have the brand, model/catalog number(s), specification sheet(s), and invoicing match their respective DesignLights Consortium® (DLC) product listing. For privately labeled products, this means the manufacturer, brand, and model under which the product is being sold must have its own DLC listing separate from any other DLC listing(s) for the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Should a separate listing for the privately labeled equipment not exist on DLC, the product is subject to disqualification. Focus on Energy is a DLC member utility and therefore adheres to DLC’s private label policy. Why? With LED technology advancements and product choices, it has become increasingly common for LED equipment to be rebranded and sold under another manufacturer, model, and/or brand. This presents challenges for Utility Programs to verify equipment performance and eligibility as the relationship between the OEM and private labeling entity is not always known. The Program relies solely on DLC to validate equipment performance. DLC listed performance data (tested and reported) is exclusive to the product listed, including the specific manufacturer, and model of the product listed on DLC. The challenges in managing the large number of rebranded products available and the OEM they correspond with has resulted in the Program needing to rely solely on DLC to verify equipment performance. Any product being rebranded will be required to be DLC listed under the rebranded manufacturer and model to prove equipment performance and to be considered for any rebates. It is strongly advised Trade Allies and customers independently verify equipment is DLC listed under the manufacturer and model for which it is being bought/sold under. Focus on Energy will not be liable for products which are misrepresented as being DLC listed and/or qualifying for a rebate from Focus on Energy. Please contact your Energy Advisor or Focus on Energy if you need assistance in verifying equipment eligibility. PRODUCT EQUIVALENCY Product categories presented in this catalog do not imply equivalency. All installations are expected to meet current IESNA recommendations for delivered light level and uniformity. Compliance is the responsibility of the installer.

FIELD ADJUSTABLE LIGHTING OUTPUT GUIDANCE Field adjustable products allow for the wattage, light level output, or color temperature of the fixture to be modified by means of a switch or fixture setting. Field adjustable products are most common in downlights and troffers. DLC and ENERGY STAR® lists the highest wattage in their technical specifications for field adjustable products. For measures requiring adherence to a specific wattage limit, Focus on Energy will base equipment eligibility on the wattage stated on the DLC listing, ENERGY STAR listing, or specification sheet. Field adjustable fixtures where the wattage has been adjusted to be within a qualifying wattage limit for a Focus on Energy rebate, may be accepted should a separate written statement from the customer or Trade Ally be provided with the rebate application. The written statement must clearly identify the quantity of fixtures being applied for where the settings have been adjusted accordingly. This statement must specify which setting is used (by referencing room types or fixture code on the drawings). Failing to provide this documentation will result in Focus on Energy referencing the DLC listing, ENERGY STAR listing, or specification sheet wattage for the purpose of determining equipment eligibility. UL TYPE B PRODUCTS By signing the application, customers agree that necessary steps have been taken to ensure product, luminaire, and maintenance safety when directly wiring UL Type B products to line voltage.

GRAIN DRYERS

EFFICIENT GRAIN DRYER Requirements: • All installed grain dryers must be permanent and use natural gas or propane as the heating source. • Only corn dryers are eligible. • For retrofit applications, new grain dryer must improve dryer efficiency by 250 BTU/lb H 2 0. • For new construction, only mixed flow grain dryers are eligible. Provide acres of corn planted per example below. • Manufacturer Specification Sheet of proposed grain dryer must be included with Grain Dryer Application. • Dryer must include at least one of these energy-efficient features:

• Staged temperature (higher temperature for wettest grain). • Grain turners or Inverters (rotate dry grain away from plenum). • Differential grain speed (drying column designed to move grain next to plenum faster). • Varied width of drying column (narrower at top where wet grain is located).

• Some type of grain heat recovery features. • Advanced grain dryer operation controls. • Pre-qualification of proposed equipment is recommended. For assistance calculating the dryer efficiency, contact your Energy Advisor. Application Measure Description Code Rebate Unit

IRRIGATION SYSTEMS

IRRIGATION WELL PUMP MOTOR HORSEPOWER REDUCTION Requirements: • Horsepower reduction projects must consist of both re-nozzling the existing irrigation system and reducing the well pump motor horsepower. • Must replace all the nozzles on the entire system. • Must install nozzles that require at least 10% less horsepower at the well pump than the original nozzle package. • Must replace pump motor and reduce motor horsepower by 10% or more. • Well pump must be electrically powered, with energy provided by a participating electricity provider. • This measure does not include the use of variable frequency drives (VFD) control to reduce motor horsepower. See page 25 for VFD measures. Measure Description Code Rebate Unit Pump Motor Horsepower Reduction AG2434* $85 Reduced hp *Complete Tables B1 and B2 on Supplemental Data Sheet. CUSTOM PROJECT IDEA Additional incentives available for pump assessments and resulting projects. Visit focusonenergy.com/assessments for details. IRRIGATION WELL PUMP VFD Requirements: • VFD must be installed on a centrifugal or axial flow pump used to control the irrigation system on your crop farm. • Routine replacement of existing VFDs do not qualify. • The equipment controlled by the VFD must operate a minimum of 500 hours annual and individual motors controlled by a VFD may not exceed 500 hp. VFDs controlling motors larger than 500 hp or that run <500 hours annually may be eligible for a custom incentive. • Rebate is based on motor horsepower controlled by VFD. • VFD speed must be automatically controlled by differential pressure, flow, temperature, or other variable signal. Units installed only to allow soft starts are not eligible.
