STEAM TRAP MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR Requirements: • Surveys are optional. Survey rebates are available only once in a 12-month period per steam system. Survey cost must be shown on the invoice. • To qualify for the survey rebate, customer must repair or replace 90% of traps identified as failed. Customer can provide written explanation for a trap that cannot be repaired or replaced and may still qualify for survey rebate. • Repair rebate is only available for the repair or replacement of traps that have malfunctioned leaking steam. Repair rebate is not available for traps that are failed closed or are plugged. • Offering is for replacing conventional style steam traps. Venturi steam traps are eligible, but encouraged to apply for custom incentives. Custom Venturi trap applications may increase the incentive amount. • Repairs do not need to be made at one time, but only one repair rebate per trap can be applied for in a 12-month period (based on latest repair date). • Mass Replacement of traps can be completed without a survey. Focus on Energy will assume 20% were leaking and pay a repair rebate for 20% of the total traps replaced. • Steam trap survey and repair work must be recorded in a log sheet and attached to the application in order to be eligible for the survey rebate. Vendor must create and fill in the log as work is completed. PROCESS BOILER COMBUSTION UPGRADES Requirements: • Boiler input must be entered in boiler horsepower (BHP). 1 BHP = 33.476 MBh. • High turndown burner must be able to provide efficient combustion at a 10:1 turndown ratio or greater. The turndown ratio must be clearly shown on a manufacturer’s spec sheet or similar documentation. • High turndown burner rebates (PS4760 and PS5238) are eligible on boilers ≤ 1,000 BHP. Boilers > 1,000 BHP may be eligible for custom incentives. • Invoices must include the manufacturer name and model number of linkageless controls, O2 trim, and high turndown burner equipment. • Rebate is limited to 50% of the project cost, including equipment and external labor (internal labor eligible for schools and government customers).
