HORTICULTURAL LIGHTING
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: • Single tier indoor farms and supplemented greenhouses are eligible for incentives. Multi-tier farming may qualify for custom incentives. Contact your Energy Advisor for additional information. • Single tier indoor farm: An indoor farming facility, such as a warehouse or other building, with only one layer of plants where there is no significant source of light besides electric lighting fixtures. • Supplemented greenhouse: Greenhouse using electric lighting to extend the hours of daylight, increase low levels of sunlight on cloudy days, or disrupt periods of darkness to alter plant growth. • New fixtures must be DLC listed in the Horticultural Lighting category or meet the following requirements: • Photosynthetic Photon Efficacy (PPE) ≥ 2.3 µmol/J. • Minimum warranty of five years. • Appropriate horticultural lighting designation by OSHA Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories or Safety Compliance and Consulting Corporation. HORTICULTURAL GROW LIGHT SYSTEM Requirements: • Pre-approval is required. Call 800.762.7077 before you start your project. Pre-approval is considered complete once an incentive agreement is signed by the
customer and returned to Focus on Energy. • Documentation required for pre-approval: • Two lighting design options, including a non-LED (such as fluorescent or HID) and LED option.
PLEASE NOTE
• Both systems must yield equivalent Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD). • System comparison must result in at least a 30% reduction in kWh to qualify. • Completion of Horticultural Lighting Workbook.
